So many problems...

Posted by 10shredder00 on December 11, 2012 at 4:55 PM

Hello SCP Craft fans. It's Shred again and I've come to deliver some bad news...the SCP Foundation has decided to sue Phuck unless we added a "CC" agreement to the mod. We are trying to get them to loosen up and let us take the thing off. Suprisingly enough I've also found out they made the SCP Containment Breach game do this "CC" agreement too. So unless we get this agreement off then we can have anyone come and copy the mod or force them to place the "CC" agreement on their "version" of the mod too.

I hope we can resolve these problems and mistakes soon or else I am going to loose my fucking mind... and yes, lately fucking is the correct term because fuck is worse than phuck. So...fuck, the mod has gone to shit :/

Stop complaining, he's not even done. And we're not getting sued or anything, we just need to respect the CC license, that's all, phuck likes to play tricks on people _

I don't like it either. The only good thing is that if we get them to "Waiver ? Any of the above conditions can be waived if you get permission from the copyright holder. " then we are out of the CC agreement but as of now unless we have this agreement the Foundation can and will sue us without it :/
I hate you Foundation, I thought you were nice.

Listen, I'm just another user, not an admin or a mod, but understand this:

Nothing bad will come from this license, and the staff are just trying to protect the hundreds of authors works from being misused (including mine). This thing with the licence agreement will pretty much influence, change, and alter nothing, and it is not coming off.

Yes, anyone can copy the mod, but why bother? If they copy the code or borrow anything, they HAVE to follow the license agreement, and link back to the forums, and if they do, people would most likely stop using that mod, and start using this mod. They could start from the ground up, and do the whole thing from scratch (which means they wouldn't have to link to this mod, just the foundation), but again, why bother? Not only will they have to compete with this beast, but they'll have to deal with a butt-fuckingly high amount of people who think that they ARE doing something wrong, and will constantly berate them for it. If Phuck just ignores them entirely, he'll come up on top.

Only way to get around this is to make a plug-in of this mod, which is basically a mod of a mod... However, that's a good thing for both parties, since they need this mod to use that mod. This can only end well, and problems will sort themselves out. Stop saying we are Lawful Evil. We're Lawful Good, with Chaotic Neutral tendencies.
